Street Wanders Protest for Livelihood, Not Ready to Relocate

Yesterday in mount abu street wanders came along to protest for places to earn their daily wages, few days before Mount Abu Nagar Palika forced all street wanders who were sitting near govt. girls school to relocate at some other place and this decision was no where excepted by the street wanders. Yesterday morning all street wanders came unitedly to protest for resettling them at their previous place, they reached Nagar Palika, Mount Abu and presented letter, requesting palika board to resettle them and informing them about their protest conditions. What Nagar Palika Board has to say on this issue They are saying we are nowhere interested in troubling anyone, we are happy with happiness of every abu-ite but at the same time betterment of this hill station is also a primary agenda. Street wanders are those people who couldn't afford to have a permanent shop and to fight poverty they come out to sell good on road side but here in mount abu, few street wanders have made this a giant business sector, few of these street wanders earns huge amount and if you see them off their work you can never make out, these are the same people who work at road side.

Many people have migrated to mount abu and settled themselves at roadsides and with time they brought their fellow people to this hill station and today they are earning handsome money everyday. Over to it nagar palika says we are resettling them at ashok vatika at sunset road i.e. again near a tourist spot and ashok vatika is a good place for them and at the same time board will be able to maintain the beauty of this city. What wanders have to say Ashok vatika is a very odd place if we shift there 80% of customers will cut down, wanders need to be settled at a prime tourist location and the road from chacha inn museum to nakki lake is only the major place for us to sell our daily goods. Some of the street wanders said, we are ready to settle at parking area opposite govt. boys school, its a prime tourist location and at the same doesn't come in between the main walking road, we will get a separate place to sit, we will pay rent for the place and it will be the best suitable solution of our problem.

As the conditions says the issue of street wanders is now becoming the major problem for administration where both the sides are not ready to compromise. letter-by-stret-wanders
